Missouri Southern Women's basketball Head Coach Ronda Hubbard announced today that Kate Frazier has joined the coaching staff.
Kate comes to the Lions after finishing her playing career at MIAA rival Lincoln University in Jefferson City.
"I've known Kate for a long time and know that her outstanding reputation as a player in the MIAA is going to be an asset to our players and program. Not only just knowing what it takes to be successful in our league, but also what it takes to be an outstanding student," said Hubbard. "She is very familiar with all aspects of the MIAA in terms of the type of player that will succeed. She will be helping with travel, Community service and serving as our Academic Coordinator. I'm thrilled to have her on staff and feel very fortunate that we have such an astute person to fill this role."
While at Lincoln, Kate played in all 52 contests while starting 39 of them. She was an All MIAA Honorable Mentionand was second in field goal percentage in MIAA, 11th in blocked shots, 14th in offensive rebounding, and finished in the top 30 in scoring at 10.2/game. Kate also made the Dean's list all four semesters there while graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in business.
"I'm very exicted to join the staff of Missouri Southern. They have a great program and I'm ready to learn a lot under both Coach Hubbard and Coach Ressell. Knowing Coach Hubbard since the fifth grade it was always a dream of mine to work with her as a coach," said Frazier.
Kate started her collegiate playing career at nearby Northeastern Oklahoma A&M where she shot 54.8 percent from the field while pulling down 3.2 rebounds per contest for the Lady Norse during her sophomore season. That season she helped lead the Lady Norse to a 21-9 overall mark and a 13-5 conference finish.
