It’s time to lace up those cleats for the Youth Developmental Soccer Program. Starting on Monday, August 25, the Joplin Parks and Recreation Department will kick off the youth soccer program at Hershewe Soccer Complex at the Joplin Athletic Complex.
Registration is open through Monday, August 3 for this fall sport. Fees for the program are $34 per player, with each player receiving a wicking cool mesh jersey, shorts, socks, and soccer ball.
Kids will be split into four divisions, six up, eight up, ten up, and twelve up. Teams will play a six game regular season. Eight, ten, and twelve up will have a post season single elimination tournament. First and second place in each divisions post season tournament will receive an award. The six up division participants will receive participation medals at the end of the season.
Games start August 25. Head and assistant coaches are still needed. The coaches and players clinic will be hosted by the National Premier Soccer League Coaches and Players. Date of the clinic will be announced once details are finalized.
