(From MSSU Lions Athletic News)Missouri Southern senior Carley Turnbull has been named the MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office today.
Turnbull helped the Lions to a 2-0 week, including wins against Northeastern State (70-64) and Rogers State (96-85).
She started her week with a 27-point, 5-rebound performance against NSU where she added four assists and two steals.
Against Rogers, she scored 23 and added five boards, going 8-of-16 from the field and 7-of-9 from the free-throw line in the win.
For the week, Turnbull averaged 25 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game, while shooting 51.3 percent from the field and 82 percent from the free throw line.
Turnbull and the Lions will be back in action on December 17 when Southern plays host to Northwest Missouri at 5:30 pm.
