Missouri Southern soccer adds 10 recruits

Missouri Southern soccer coach Aaron Tilsen announced the signing of ten incoming freshman for the upcoming 2021 campaign.

"The 2021 class brings depth and talent to the program," Tilsen said. "I am confident that this group of girls from Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, and Missouri are going to continue to develop our team culture and success on the field."

The class features six from Kansas, two from Missouri and one each from Oklahoma and Texas, with eight playing club ball in the Kansas City area.









Short bios for each player are listed below.

2021 MSSU Soccer Signing Class

Mia Barkyoumb
Olathe, Kan.


HS: Prepped at Olathe Northwest High School under Coach Christopher Graham. Sunflower league Champions. Kansas Regional Champions in 6A. Took 3rd in state in 6A. Awarded captain Junior and Senior seasons. Was also a member of the dance team and link crew.

Club: Played club through Sporting Valley under the Coach Richard Davies. Sporting Valley has won the State Cup 4 times, this year team took 3rd in the State Cup. She has played for KC Fusion, Kansas Rush, and Sporting Blue Valley throughout her club soccer career.

Personal: Daughter of Mary and Ryan Barkyoumb. Has an older brother and two dogs. Enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, and dancing.

Why Missouri Southern? The Campus the environment. The chance to continue and play soccer, meet new people, academic study, and get to live in a new area.








Alex Pascua
Eudora, Kan.

HS: Prepped at Eudora High School under Coach Erpelding. Named All-State in 2018 and 2019, as well as Lawrence Journal World 2019 All Girls Soccer Team. Team voted her offensive player of the year for both years. Played basketball for two years and won Sub-State for 1 of them. Powerlifts in the LWT division and holds three records for her school- squat, vertical jump, and hang clean. Also, a part of National Honors Society, a leadership group called Cardinal Core, and was awarded Honor Roll all three years.

Personal: Daughter of Stephanie and Joel Pascua.

Braylee Childers
Lee's Summit, Mo.

HS: Blue Springs South High School under Coach Todd Findley. A four-year varsity player. Received
All Conference second-team as a sophomore in '19 and All Conference honorable-mention as a freshman in '18.

Club: Played for KC Athletics ECNL-RL '03 under Coach Brad Childers. During youth soccer career, was MO State Cup Champion in '17 on Academy '03 and we competed in USYSA regionals. Was on the MO ODP team in '15,'16,'17. After Academy, we became a DA team in our club for one year and then we switched to ECNL. Competed in ECNL in '18 and '20.








Personal: Daughter of Todd and Shea Childers. The youngest of four with three older brothers: Bryce, Brady, and Brooks. Enjoys painting, good food, and traveling.

Why Missouri Southern? Missouri Southern is not too big and not too small with a beautiful campus. It is not too far from home. It has a good Dental Hygiene program for continuing my academics. It gives me the opportunity to complete a bachelor's degree in health sciences while completing the dental hygiene degree. I am very excited about the opportunity to compete with the women's soccer program.

Hannah Beashore
Shawnee, Kan.

HS: Mill Valley High School under coach Arlan Vomhof and Joe Waldron. 2016/2017 top goal scorer. Was awarded 2 letters in soccer. Also, a member of JagPride for 3 years.

Club: Played club for KC Athletics under coach Brad Childers. 2016/2017 State cup finalist. 2017/2018 presidents cup champions.

Personal: Daughter of Shawna and Jim Beashore. I have three older sisters. I enjoy spending time with my nephew, traveling, and hanging out with my friends.

Why Missouri Southern? The beautiful campus, the dental hygiene program, and overall atmosphere of the school is exactly what I've always wanted in a college. I couldn't be more excited to start the next chapter of my life at MSSU!

Joelie Riley
Lenexa, Kan.

HS: Shawnee Mission West High School under coach Sarah Gonzalez. 2018 Regional champions and Sunflower League Champions. Was also a member of yearbook, DECA, and cross country.

Club: Played for KC Fusion Academy '03 under coach Sara Matthews. Team was the NPL champions in 2019. Team was State Cup finalists in 2017. Surf Cup champions in 2019.

Personal: Daughter of Kevin Riley and Kristen Sells and stepdaughter to Bre Riley. Has three siblings Zia, Kale, and Charlotte. Enjoys travelling with my family, spending time with Zia, and watching movies.

Why Missouri Southern? The dynamic of the soccer team and athletic facilities made me feel right at home, with a campus that is far enough away to feel independent but close enough for my family to come and support me.

Lainey Waldron
Shawnee, Kan.

HS: Mill Valley High School under coach Arlan Vomhof and Joe Waldron. Her freshman year the team was the 5A State runners-up after being 5A Regional champions. Named ELK honorable mention her sophomore season.

Club: Played for KC Fusion Academy under coach Sara Matthews and Jamie Kelly. Part of the teams that were the 2018 State Cup semi-finalists, 2019 Midwest NPL Champions that qualified for the national season.

Personal: Daughter of Joe and Mindy Waldron
Two siblings, Weston and Jay Waldron

Enjoys spending time and creating memories with friends and family. Also enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and of course, spending time on the soccer field.

Why Missouri Southern? The environment was welcoming the first time I arrived on campus. It immediately felt like home and the coaches and players made me realize it is the best place for me. I am excited to be a part of the new direction the program is headed under Coach Tilsen. The facilities and programs offered also added to my decision of continuing my athletic and academic career at Missouri Southern.

Leah Paddie
Cache, Okla.

HS: Cache High School Senior under Coach Amber Dewinter. 2018 first round appearance, Bethany tournament champions, All-District, and was also starting varsity freshman year. State quarterfinalist, Bethany tournament champions, and starting varsity in 2019. All- District 2020. Currently a captain for the upcoming 2021 season. Also, a member of stucco and Betta Club. A part of National Honors society and has received the letter C award all throughout high school.

Club: Played for South Lakes Cosmos Elite 02/03 under coach Dennis Porter. Guessed played for Cosmos 01 and won the State Cup Championship in 2020.

Personal: Daughter of Carl and Jennifer Paddie. Has three siblings, an older brother Addison, an older sister Alexis, and a younger sister Cheyenne. Enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing with her dogs, trying new food, weightlifting, and watching netflix and tik tok when she is not working out or playing soccer.

Why Missouri Southern? I chose Missouri Southern because as soon as I got onto campus and had a great talk with the coaches my gut knew it was for me. I also had to take the opportunity to live and play in another state other than Oklahoma because I wanted to learn and experience a new environment. The campus was absolutely amazing, and I loved the nature they had up on campus. I am super excited to start my journey in the fall of 2021!

Parker Croft
Raymore, Mo.

HS: Played at Raymore-Peculiar High School under Jennifer Ogren and John Plankers. Started varsity. Earned Second Team All-Conference 2018 and First Team All-District in 2019. Was also a member of golf and wrestling.

Club: Played club for KC Athletics ECNL. Also, played for the ODP team in 2018.

Personal: Daughter of Joey Croft and Kathi Gillispie. Has two siblings, Joey Croft Jr., and Laurel Gillispie.

Why Missouri Southern? The campus and facilities were amazing, and it felt like home. Also, the team and coaches were super welcoming and friendly.

Rachel Rogers
Frisco, Texas

Club: Played club for FC Dallas under coach Jeff McAnually for the past 8 seasons, competing in the Girls Classic League (formerly Lakes Highlands Classic League). Helped lead the team to 5 championships including the 2019 Austin Labor Day Cup and 2018 Houston Labor Day Cup. Has scored 84 career goals with her club.

HS: Plays for Frisco Lebanon Trail High School under coach Caitlin Lueders. Earned Offensive Player of the Year honors her sophomore season. Lebanon Trail made the Texas UIL Class 5 playoffs the past two seasons heading into her senior season in the winter/spring of 2021.

Personal: Daughter of Rick and Elizabeth Rogers. Has one sibling, Quinette. Enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing the piano and painting.

Why Missouri Southern? Being able to be a Lion has allowed me to return to my roots. I was born in the Joplin area, and remember going to games on campus as a little kid with my parents. Having lived in Texas for the past 10 years, I realized I wanted to go to college in a community-like atmosphere, and I knew Missouri Southern was the perfect place for me.

Tobie Trenholm
Overland Park, Kan.

HS: Shawnee Mission West High School under coach Sarah Gonzalez. 2018 Regional Champions. 2018 Sunflower League Champions. Was also a member of Yearbook, and DECA.

Club: Played for KC Fusion Academy 03 under coach Sara Matthews. 2019 NPL champions, 2017 State Cup finalists. 2019 Surfs cup champions.

Personal: Daughter of Shelly and Steve Trenholm. Has one sibling, Thomas. Enjoys eating, traveling, and shopping.

Why Missouri Southern? I love the team chemistry and coaching staff. I think the atmosphere of the campus will better me as a player and a person. It's a good enough distance from home that I can be my own person, but close enough for my family to come to watch my games. I really think Missouri Southern is a good fit for me.
