Crowder College to play host to first round Region 16 soccer match

The Crowder College Soccer team earned the number three seed in Region 16 and
will host their first round match versus number six seed Maple Woods, Saturday, October 22, at 2pm.
The Roughriders are now 13-3 on the season, 5-2 in Region 16 play. The tournament is a single
elimination tournament. A win would have the Roughriders playing Tuesday, October 25, 2pm, versus the winner of the Jefferson/Blue River match.

Crowder College soccer nationally ranked for first time in team's history

The Crowder College Roughrider Soccer team marked another milestone as it received votes in NJCAA rankings for the first time in program history.
The National Junior College Athletic Association Men’s Soccer Coaches Association ranks teams based on record and opponents played. Currently, Crowder is ranked in the top 28 teams in the country in Division I programs. The next rankings will be released on Monday, October 10.
“We have been having such a good year – it is a wonderful recognition for the team. We have worked hard and believe that this is just recognition for the work that we have put in. Hopefully this will inspire us to work even harder and make this truly a season to remember,” stated Coach Brad Smith.
The Roughrider Soccer team travels to Jefferson College, Saturday, October, 8, for a Region 16 match. The next home match is Saturday, October 15, versus Ecclesia College.
Smith has been the head coach since soccer became an NJCAA program at the college in 2008.
