Southern golf finishes 12th at Jim Bishop Toyota Classic

The Missouri Southern golf team finished 12th Tuesday after a cold and wind-blown final day in the 2014 Jim Bishop Toyota Classic hosted by the University of North Alabama at the Fighting Joe Course of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.
The Lions shot a 317 today as the wind and weather made it tough on teams and none of the teams made it below 300 on the afternoon.
Ryan Buerk led the way for the Lions shooting a 77 and finishing tied for 19th with a three-round 230. Ryan Russellfinished tied for 31st with a 238, while Ethan HutchesonAndrew Maier and Taylor Lansford shot a respective 240, 243 and 244. 
North Alabama won the team title with a four-stroke win over Missouri-St. Louis. Arkansas Tech was third, followed by Central Missouri and Henderson State to round out the top five. Central Alabama Community College was sixth, followed by Delta State, Wallace State, Wilmington, Harding, Lee, Southern, West Alabama and Lindenwood to round out the team totals. 
The Lions will be back in action on next Monday and Tuesday as they head to Oklahoma City to take place in the Central Oklahoma Invite, held at Gallardia Country Club.
